Dr. Brian Martyniuk, D.C.

Growing up, physical activity was part of my life. I loved playing hockey, baseball, tennis, and later on weight training. During high school, I met a chiropractor who came in to speak on ‘career day’. Not only was he athletic and loved sports, but he was passionate about his work and enthusiastic about life. This was exactly what I wanted in a career; to love my job and help people.

I graduated from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Minor in Psychology. After university, I worked as a sport rehabilitation therapist and personal trainer for a successful Vancouver company. I enjoyed helping others reach their goals and return to normal function, but I knew I could build on these skills and offer more as a chiropractor.

I attended Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), considered to be one of the finest Chiropractic Colleges in the world. I took part in outside courses that included Active Release Techniques (ART), Motion Palpation Institute (MPI) workshops, and Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT). These courses complemented my manual techniques as a chiropractor.

After graduation, my wife Dr. Trina Parry and I moved to the United Kingdom where we practised as chiropractors in three busy areas of London. We gained priceless experience and enjoyed travelling to many different countries. After two years, we decided to move back to the Ottawa area where my wife is originally from. We presently have 2 clinics: one in Stittsville and one in Carleton Place. Besides being a chiropractor, I love being a dad to my little puppy Milo. He keeps me grounded and makes me laugh every day.

My philosophy:

“An important part of health is regular physical activity and proper nutrition. Due to my background in functional rehabilitation, I incorporate chiropractic with active exercises and education to treat and prevent re-occurrences. I use an extensive range of techniques including Active Release Techniques because I believe it is important to customize the treatment to each individual patient.”
